Blog EntryExpecting more to ur enemy than to ur ally...Feb 22, '08 1:11 PM
for everyone
People are so unpredictible. Bahkan se-kalem-kalem-nya sobat sekantor gw ini, dia msh bisa ngomel2. Dia baru aja dikecewakan oleh sahabatnya sendiri. Alhasil, sore td, sepulang kerja, dibalik kemudi, sepanjang jalan dari kantor sampe PIE Lavender dia ngomel2 gak jelas. Akhirnya setelah agak reda ngomel2nya, gw tanya : "r u finished?", dia jawab : "no...",tapi cuma menghela nafas panjang, sepertinya udh kehabisan cacian&makian. gw tunggu sampe beberapa detik, dia bertanya kepada gw dan 2 org teman gw yg lain : "am I iritating to you from just now?", then I said : "hahaha... no laaaah", dgn logat singlish gw (yg sepertinya mulai kental, merusak british gw yg keren). Tapi at least dr pertanyaannya yg terakhir barusan, sangat mudah mengindikasikan sifatnya, gw tau inti permasalahan yg dihadapi temen gw ini. Jadi gw bilang ama dia : "It''s better expecting more to ur enemy than to ur ally...". Dia bilang : "Is it?". Oh well, is it???

Akhirnya gw jelaskan pandangan gw.

But life's never be that perfect, trust me! After all, u shouldn't expecting anything from ur friendship, rite??. I mean, that's what friends are for. Yeaaah.. mungkin gak semua sobat bakalan melakukan apa aja juga.. just do what's best u can do as a bestfriend, Insya Allah semuanya akan berbalik ke kita nantinya, what goes around, comes around. Gw selalu percaya karma dari dulu. Whatever u do to the nature, that's what's nature will do to u.

Terakhir kata, sebelum gw gantiin dia nyetir, parkirin mobilnya di gedung parkir deket Bugis Junction (sebelum dia menyenggol mobil lain -lagi-, maklum new-driving-license-holder, nyetirnya masih kacau bgt!! masih lebih jago jebolan SIM-nembak Polres Tangerang deh!! gw maksudnya, hehehe), gw bilang sama sobat gw :

"I always expecting more only to myself. Not that I feel that I don't need others. But for some more reason, people I know always dissapointed me. So no point for expecting more. Just do what's best to u and others, never expecting anything (more). It's fair enough for everybody"

Cheers for friendship, everybody!!!

Kunjungan wajib sepulang fitnes di CF-Bugis, gw selalu ke Bras Basah Road, melenggang menuju Bras Basah Complex, tempat hunting buku ter-OK di Spore yg pernah gw tau. Terutama untuk buku2 Desain (semua desain, desain grafis, web, interior, produk, arsitektur, lansekap, dsb), new and after-used (a.k.a bekas) juga ada.

The Chinese New Year heralds the arrival of spring and at the Singapore River Hongbao (SRHB) 2008, the Esplanade Park will be transformed into a garden of flowers to welcome the Year of the Rat.

To bring the fireworks nearer to the visitors, this year’s fireworks will be launched from the Esplanade Drive. The specially choreographed fireworks will be conducted on February 5, 6, 7 and 8.

Visitors to SRHB 08 will have the opportunity of winning a $5000 “hongbao” by correctly counting the number of “rats” featured at the site (excluding merchandise).

As we will be ushering in the Year of the Rat, this animal will be depicted in various forms throughout the site. Each visitor will be allowed to submit one entry on the total number of rats displayed at the site. If there is more than one winning entry, a draw will be made to select the winner.

Sponsored by United Overseas Bank, submissions have to be made by midnight on February 15 and the winner will be presented with the prize at the Main Stage on February 16.
Free Nightly Performances at the Main Stage

Taking centre stage will be a song and dance troupe from Tibet and an acrobatic troupe from Taipei. They will perform at the Main Stage from February 5 to 16.

For the first time, the Lhasa Municipal Ethnic Art Troupe will be sending a 32-member strong team of artistes to introduce Tibetan songs and dances to visitors of SRHB.

Joining them at the Main Stage will be 25 young acrobats from the National Taiwan Junior College of Performing Arts.

In collaboration with Mr Ben Puah, a local artist, SRHB will feature a total of 88 art pieces designed by Mr Puah and painted by students. Young Singaporeans will be given an opportunity to demonstrate their artistic skills by adding on to 10 of these banners at the Esplanade Park.

Cooking Demonstrations of Traditional Dialect Food

In response to popular demand, there will be cooking demonstrations of traditional dialect food nightly, from February 10 to 16. Visitors will have the chance to learn and sample Hokkien, Cantonese, Khek, Hainanese, Teochew, Fuzhou and Futsing food prepared by representatives from clan associations.

Handicrafts and Food Stalls

SRHB has lined up 100 stalls selling handicrafts and food.
Doing our bit for the Less privileged

In keeping with the Chinese tradition of caring for the less privileged during this festive occasion, SRHB will set up a Wishing Well to collect donations for the Kwong Wai Shiu Hospital.
